- ACC Schematic Plan Editor –
allows the non-scale representation of tracks and all yard entities,
based on the station layout. The system provides an intuitive and
collaborative graphical interface, making it easy to modify the
arrangement of tracks and yard entities. The resulting Schematic Plan
is created with standardized graphics for the entities, in compliance
with the relevant railway signaling standards. For Italy, following the
regulations issued by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana s.p.a.
- ACC Schematic Plan Design Verification Task –
the tool provides a graphical interface listing the applicable tests.
The user can choose to run a sequence of tests simultaneously or a
single test. Each test performed verifies the consistency of the design
with the specific regulations associated with that test. A successful
test outcome ensures the correct design of the previously edited or
imported Schematic Plan in the CCStoBIM tool. The regulatory references
for Italy are issued by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana s.p.a.
- Computation and Estimation Task
– the tool provides the user with a file in standard XML format, where
it is possible to define the Prices (which vary over the years) and the
calculation method for the Appraisal. The tool uses the XML files to
automatically generate the Estimation and Appraisal for the entire
edited project.
- Generation of Control Table Task –
the tool has automatic functionalities for generating Control Tables.
These tables define the rules for railway operations ensuring safe
movement of trains and rolling stock, in compliance with the
regulations issued by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana s.p.a.
- Simulation Task
– The tool automatically defines the train maneuvering capabilities,
while ensuring the safety of operations. It offers advanced features to
simulate train movements, interacting with the design data to determine
the optimal route, selected from those pre-calculated by the system,
taking into account schedules (departures and stops). For trains with
incompatible routes, the tool automatically identifies the precise
point where the incompatibility should be resolved. The scenario is
simulated in real time, providing a visual display and the
corresponding Train Graph (spatial-temporal graph).
- BIM Export Task
– The tool provides the functionality to convert a 2D project into a
BIM-3D model using the open IFC format (Industry Foundation Classes),
promoted by Building SMART for the openBIM concept. This format ensures
interoperability between different software, allowing users to avoid
being tied to a specific 3D software. The IFC file can be imported and
used in any 3D BIM software, ensuring universal compatibility. Once the
conversion from 2D to 3D-BIM is completed, the process also includes
the option to reverse the process. This is useful if, for
design-related reasons, the file needs to be modified, such as shifting
entities, updating data, or changing progressions. In such cases, the
software automatically handles the re-import of modified data into the
3D-BIM model in the 2D Schematic Plan. This capability represents a
significant innovation in railway engineering, leading to a substantial
reduction in design costs and particularly automating the requirements
in the new procurement code for mandatory BIM design, effective from
January 1, 2025. D.M. 560/2017 BIM Decree and D.M. 312/2021.
